About monoCO
the work
is the
point
WHAT WE ARE
We built monoCO for photographers who treat black and white as a deliberate artistic choice — not a filter, not a fallback, not an afterthought.
Without color to carry the work, every decision becomes visible. Light, contrast, gesture, framing, atmosphere, texture, negative space, timing — nothing hides. That's not a limitation. That's the point.
This is not a
drop-your-photo
community.
The collective is open to every genre and every level. What matters is the strength of the image and the intention behind it.
Why it exists
The photography world has no shortage of platforms that reward volume and velocity. monoCO is not one of them.
We move slowly, curate carefully, and take the images seriously. Some of the strongest photographers working right now are barely being seen. We exist, to change that.
Through monthly challenges, curated features, open calls, and future educational opportunities, the goal is to build something that lasts — a place where strong work is visible and photographers at every stage can keep developing their voice.
monoCO is still early.
If you care about the work, you're welcome here.
Independent.
Intending to
stay that way.
monoCO is free. Everything here — the monthly challenges, the gallery, the features — is built and maintained without advertising or outside funding.
If the platform has been useful to you and you'd like to help keep it running, you can support it on Ko-fi. It goes directly toward the tools that keep things alive.
No advertising
Your feed is images, not promotions.
No outside funding
No investors. No pressure to scale.
supported by you
If it stays alive, it's because of you.
